In the domestic market, clinical trials of brain computer interfaces have achieved significant break

In recent years, brain computer interfaces have received much attention. It is reported that in the domestic market, there has been a significant breakthrough in clinical trials of brain computer interfaces recently.

 
 
 
 
The domestically developed 256 channel high-throughput implantable flexible brain computer interface by Shanghai Brain Tiger Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Brain Tiger Technology"), a domestic invasive brain computer interface company, has recently conducted clinical trials on high-precision real-time motion decoding and language decoding at Huashan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University.
 
 
 
It is reported that this experiment is the first clinical trial in the industry to achieve language motion "dual decoding" (high-precision real-time motion decoding and language decoding) brain computer interface, and also the first Chinese language decoding brain computer interface experiment in China. According to relevant sources, the high-precision language decoding clinical trial has achieved real-time decoding of Chinese through brain computer interfaces, which can help patients with language disorders reshape their language function.
 
 
 
According to the introduction, the subjects achieved advanced functions such as real-time synthesis of Chinese thoughts, driving digital avatars, and conversational AI models based on real-time Chinese decoding. Participants can also encode their brain into language, which can then be converted into instructions to control machinery in real-time and achieve human-computer interaction.
 
 
 
It is reported that in recent years, brain computer interfaces have received much attention, and the country has continuously introduced favorable policies to support their development. As proposed in the "Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of Drug and Medical Device Supervision to Promote the High quality Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry", by 2027, the quality and efficiency of the evaluation and approval of innovative drugs and medical devices will be significantly improved, and a regulatory system that is compatible with pharmaceutical innovation and industrial development will be established. Priority review and approval will be given to high-end medical equipment such as medical robots, brain computer interface devices, and high-end implantable medical devices.
 
 
 
And Shanghai continues to increase its support for brain computer interface technology. As proposed in the "Work Plan for the Development of Medical Artificial Intelligence in Shanghai (2025-2027)", Shanghai will increase its research layout around cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, cognitive intelligence, and reinforcement learning, and support innovative explorations in medical frontiers such as neuroscience and brain computer interfaces, computational biology, etc.
 
 
 
In addition, on January 6th, the Shanghai meeting agreed in principle to the "Action Plan for Cultivating the Future Industry of Brain Computer Interface in Shanghai (2025-2030)" and pointed out the need to strengthen strategic agility, focus on breaking through cutting-edge technological issues, establish a decision-making consulting system of "scientists+entrepreneurs+investors", and timely cultivate and layout strategic projects. We need to strengthen the integration of elements, collaborate to promote product research and development innovation, fully leverage the advantages of Shanghai's good industrial supporting conditions and abundant clinical resources, and promote product research and development. We need to strengthen scientific supervision, steadily carry out clinical trial applications, and ensure the standardized and orderly development of cutting-edge technology and future industries.
 
 
 
Some institutions have stated that with the continuous introduction of favorable policies, brain computer interface technology is expected to usher in huge development opportunities. Meanwhile, with the rapid iteration of technology, companies related to brain computer interfaces will continue to make breakthroughs in both technology and market.
 
 
 
And for the successful analysis of Chinese in the above experiment, relevant personnel say that this is a significant progress. It is reported that research on the human brain is divided into five levels: the first level involves decoding states and evaluating emotions. The second layer is the intent recognition and motion control of actions. The third layer is language, mainly consisting of speech comprehension and language generation. The fourth layer is visual reconstruction and enhancement. The fifth layer involves the regulation of memory and cognitive optimization. At present, Brain Tiger Technology has broken through to the third level.
